National Enquirer claims Sarah Palin had an affair.

Byron York, writer for the National Review, called the National Enquirer and received part of the story that the Enquirer will run about Sarah Palin’s VERY ALLEGED affair that she had with her husband’s business partner.
Another incredible allegation emerging from the family war is that Palin, a mother of five, had an affair with a former business associate of her fisherman husband, Todd.
“Todd discovered the affair and quickly dissolved his friendship and his business associations with the guy,” charges an enemy. “Many people in Alaska are talking about the rumor and say Todd swept it under the rug.”
The ugly family feud stems from a three-year battle between the 44-year-old governor and her former brother-in-law, state trooper Mike Wooten.
“Sarah has many enemies in her hometown – but a lot of them are in her own extended family,” a source close to the Palin family told The Enquirer.
Family members loyal to Wooten are now waging a campaign to drag Palin’s reputation through the mud.
The McCain campaign has released a statement regarding this new smear!
“The smearing of the Palin family must end. The allegations contained on the cover of the National Enquirer insinuating that Governor Palin had an extramarital affair are categorically false. It is a vicious lie. Governor Palin is the most popular governor in the country. She is a proven leader, an accomplished executive, a champion for ethics reform, and a fighter against corruption. The efforts of the media and tabloids to destroy this fine and accomplished public servant are a disgrace. The American people will reject it.
“Senator McCain and Governor Palin look forward to discussing the issues that Americans care about, fixing broken government, creating jobs, making our country energy independent and securing the peace for the next generation by bringing the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan to a victorious end. The Enquirer has not even verified this information! They are just running with it! I want to see some photos, Enquirer. I want to read some details. Enquirer, you guys found the dirt on John Edwards, and that is why many people accepted Edwards affair as fact. However, the Enquirer only has unconfirmed claims by former family friends who are now the Palin’s enemies. That is not exactly a ringing endorsement for the truth.

Where is the evidence of the affair? Any pictures? Any detailed accounts by former lovers, if they even exist? I truly do doubt Sarah Palin, or her husband, had any kind of affair.

Sadly, that’s not the case.
The left doesn’t feel threatened by Palin. The left isn’t even behind most of these attacks. As we saw with John Edwards, the National Enquirer is an equal opportunity dirt digger.
The left’s actual reaction to Palin has been hysterical laughter at our train wreck of a nominee.
McCain’s criminally poor vetting of Palin has probably lost the election.

If this story isn’t true, then how come Todd Palin’s former business partner - brad hanson - the one rumored to have had the affair with Sarah Palin - just tried to his divorce papers sealed in an emergency motion? Nobody’s smearing Palin because she’s a woman; we’re smearing her because she’s a crazy fundamentalist nutwing inexperienced deceitful hypocrite. Look at her actual record and what she says. Lies, lies, and more lies.

Well this rumour has died a natural death. its oct11 and nothing like the Edwards uproar,maybe democrats are nicer than repubs,or Mc cain has got at nat enquirer ,was it a non event or what. what happened to the story .
