Barack Obama wants to legislate wealth redistribution.
Posted by Carlos C. on Monday, October 27th, 2008 at 2:02 amBarack Obama on Chicago Public Radio WBEZ-FM, 2001:
One of the, I think, tragedies of the civil rights movement was, um, because the civil rights movement became so court focused I think there was a tendancy to lose track of the political and community organizing and activities on the ground that are able to put together the actual coalition of powers through which you bring about redistributive change…
If Barack Obama becomes President, and liberal Democrats have full control of the House and Senate, wealth redistribution - Socialism - will become a reality in America.
Hard work, self-determination, entrepreneurship, free markets, and capitalism will become obsolete.

UPDATE 1: boston.com
“The American people continue to learn more about Barack Obama. Now we know that the slogans ‘change you can believe in’ and ‘change we need’ are code words for Barack Obama’s ultimate goal: ‘redistributive change.’ In a previously uncovered interview from September 6, 2001, Barack Obama expressed his regret that the Supreme Court hadn’t been more ‘radical’ and described as a ‘tragedy’ the Court’s refusal to take up ‘the issues of redistribution of wealth.’ No wonder he wants to appoint judges that legislate from the bench – as insurance in case a unified Democratic government under his control fails to meet his basic goal: taking money away from people who work for it and giving it to people who Barack Obama believes deserve it. Europeans call it socialism, Americans call it welfare, and Barack Obama calls it change,” McCain senior policy adviser Douglas Holtz-Eakin said in a statement.
This is just another reason to vote for the McCain-Palin ticket.
I am glad the McCain campaign is now attacking Barack Obama on his “redistributive change”, also known as Socialism.
You will not take my money, Obama, because if you do get into office, I will not pay my taxes. Hopefully, millions of people follow my lead.
UPDATE 2: The Obama campaign has responded.
Jake Tapper reports:
“In this interview back in 2001, Obama was talking about the civil rights movement – and the kind of work that has to be done on the ground to make sure that everyone can live out the promise of equality,” Obama campaign spokesman Bill Burton says. “Make no mistake, this has nothing to do with Obama’s economic plan or his plan to give the middle class a tax cut. It’s just another distraction from an increasingly desperate McCain campaign.”
Another distraction? Or another truth that Barack Obama and his campaign do not want to admit?
I was thinking about the earlier quote I posted about “Americans call Socialism, welfare.” Welfare is Socialism, folks. This is the same welfare black rappers rap about in their songs that say the inner city needs more jobs, not monthly welfare checks. Some of these same black rappers support Barack Obama. How can you support a man whose policies are the very same that destroy black communities? The same welfare is applied to other poor communities, whether they are white, Hispanic, or any other ethnic background, and these communities are destroyed as well through poverty, thanks to Socialist welfare.
