Kymberly Clem, 20, says she walked into the Richmond Mall Saturday but was soon escorted out all because of her dress.

“I was walking through and 10 minutes after I was there, the security guard approached me, asked me to step aside, made me completely do a turn around while he stared me up and down and then asked me to leave because my outfit was too provocative and people’s husbands was (sic) looking at me,” says Clem.

Clem says she bought the dress at the mall just the day before. She says she’s worn more revealing clothing before to the mall, but this is the first time she’s been kicked out.

Clem now wants answers and says she’s been wrongly turned away.

27 NEWSFIRST tried contacting the Richmond Mall for comment, but those requests were denied.

There’s no word yet if Clem plans to pursue any action against the mall.

I’m not sure what type of action Clem can pursue, but she could probably sue the security guard for public humiliation. The best course of action is to try to get an explanation and an apology. However, this news story is just weird. There’s nothing wrong with Clem’s dress. She bought the dress at the same mall!

As former mall security let me state something. Most malls are legally considered private property. any visitor is an INVITED GUEST, no visitor HAS A RIGHT to be on the property because it is private not public. Since it is private, the owner(s) have a right, to require certain standards- no running, no provocative dress, no swearing, etc. this is because malls are generally family oriented. she could sue, but she would be foolish. the security guard did not make a scene but “asked her to step aside”.

    Thanks for the insight, Jeff.

I just think that since she bought the dress at the mall, she can wear it at the mall.

  3. Jeff Says:

Yes, when i was a security guard i got that all the time too. ” I bought it here, why cant i wear it” one can also by g strings, dildos, and other oddities at certain mall stores, but that doesnt make their use in the mall acceptable.. but yea..

    fun story

I think the dress looks fine. It’s not like she’s dressed like a hooker or anything. If she was shopping wearing latex body paint, I would consider that distracting. That’s just a nice outfit she’s wearing.

She has all the right in the world to wear that dress, but she chose clothing that does draw attention. It sounds like to me she is trying to do this, Clem “She says she’s worn more revealing clothing before to the mall” This is a messed up young girl who wants attention, so kick the little d*** tease out
