John McCain’s campaign hit back at Madonna on Sunday after the pop diva kicked off her world tour with a concert that bracketed the US presidential candidate with Adolf Hitler.
McCain campaign spokesman Tucker Bounds angrily condemned the segment of Madonna’s concert in Cardiff on Saturday that appeared to draw a comparison between McCain, Hitler and Zimbabwean strongman Robert Mugabe.
“The comparisons are outrageous, unacceptable and crudely divisive all at the same time,” Bounds said in a statement reported by Fox News.
“It clearly shows that when it comes to supporting Barack Obama, his fellow worldwide celebrities refuse to consider any smear or attack off limits.”
Madonna’s apparent swipe at McCain came during a performance of the song “Get Stupid”, when the Republican contender’s image was flashed up alongside images of destruction and global warming as well as Hitler and Mugabe.
Towards the end of the song, pictures of Beatles star John Lennon, former US vice-president Al Gore, Indian Mahatma Gandhi and McCain’s Democrat rival Barack Obama appeared.
Well, I guess nothing is off limits now.

A cameraman has attempted to sell a sex tape allegedly featuring Madonna and Alex Rodriguez.
Madonna, who is married to director Guy Ritchie, was romantically linked to the basketball star earlier this month.
However, the singer has repeatedly denied rumors of an affair.
According to the Daily Star, Madonna’s legal team is aware of the cameraman’s allegations.
The video, which was reportedly filmed by a hidden camera, apparently features the veteran popstar sleeping with Rodriguez.
A source commented: “If footage was obtained in this way it would be an outrageous invasion of privacy.
“But more than that he would not have had his friend’s consent to install the camera and must have entered the apartment without approval to hide it. That is burglary.
“He would be prima facie guilty of voyeurism. Instead of making a million he’d be going to jail for a few years. Even if the video existed it would probably be seized by the courts.”
Well, Alex Fletcher needs a proof editor - stat!

A woman wearing a pink Alex Rodriguez Yankees jersey threw a rock at Madonna’s SUV earlier this week as it was traveling through Central Park.
It’s unknown if the singer was in the SUV when it was attacked. Police have asked for the publics to help identify the woman.
It is reported that the jersey was also covered with the words, “I hate you, I hate you, I hate you, you cheating mother fucker!, I hate you!” scribbled onto it.
