Castro Praises Obama

New picture released by Argentina

There’s a ringing endorsement.

Former Cuban President, Fidel Castro posted an essay Thursday on his “Reflections” website that stated: “Obama has transformed himself under the inspiration of Abraham Lincoln and Martin Luther King Jr. to the point of becoming a living symbol of the American dream.” Abraham Lincoln…really? Lincoln freed slaves. The only people Obama will free are terrorists.

President Bush leaves note for Barack Obama.

Posted by Carlos C. on Tuesday, January 20th, 2009 at 8:40 am

MSNBC.com

WASHINGTON - Continuing a White House ritual, President George W. Bush left a note in the Oval Office for President-elect Barack Obama, wishing him well as he takes the reins of the executive branch.

The White House on Tuesday declined to provide intimate details of the message the two-term Republican left for the incoming Democrat, saying only that Bush wrote it on Monday and left it in the top drawer of his desk.

“The theme is similar to what he’s said since election night about the fabulous new chapter President-elect Obama is about to start, and that he wishes him the very best,” White House press secretary Dana Perino said Tuesday.

I wonder what the note says?

Guesses, anyone?

Jay-Z and Young Jeezy toast Barack Obama!

Posted by Carlos C. on Tuesday, January 20th, 2009 at 6:04 am

Michelle writes:

Here’s the Hollywood inaugural celebration you didn’t see splashed all over TV: Rappers Young Jeezy and Jay-Z crazily cursing their heads off and screaming “Nigga” this and “Nigga” that as a crowd goes wild to Jeezy’s national anthem: “My President Is Black.”

Young Jeezy thanks the Iraqi shoe thrower.

MTV reported:

All hail the chief! Young Jeezy made immediate impact his first night in D.C.: Jeezy debuted a remix of the hip-hop national anthem right now, “My President.” Not too long after T.I. performed at D.C. club Love, the Snowman took to the stage for his “Presidential Status” inaugural ball — and his guest on the new version of “My President” was Jay-Z.

“My president is black, he’s black, he’s half white/ So even in a racist mind, he’s half right/ So if you got a racist mind, it’s alright/ My president is black, but his house is all white,” Jay spit a capella as the DJ pulled the music for his verse.

“No more white lies, my president is black!” Hov finished, as the crowd in the club repeated his last line over and over again.

Yup.

Martin Luther King’s Jr. dream has come true.

My niggas.

Kenyan officials travel to Washington, D.C. as Kenyans starve.

Posted by Carlos C. on Tuesday, January 20th, 2009 at 6:03 am

USA Today

As the new U.S. president takes center stage today amid celebrations around the globe, an uproar is brewing in the birthplace of Barack Obama’s father.

Eight high-level Kenyans, led by Foreign Affairs Minister Moses Wetang’ula, flew to Washington at government expense while their nation faces one of its worst famines in years — and even though they weren’t invited to Obama’s inauguration.

Headlines in Nairobi’s Daily Nation newspaper blared, “Fury on the street over free ride to Washington party” and “Anger at waste on Obama trip.”

“People see this trip as a waste of money,” says Ann Wanjiru, a community health worker in Nairobi who sees patients going for days without food. “This is making people start hating Obama. Why can’t the American Embassy refuse these people visas to travel?”

Kalembe Ndile, a former member of parliament, delivered his own TV to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, saying the trip is a waste of taxpayers’ money because the officials will watch the ceremony from their hotels, the Daily Nation reported.

Idiots.

If Barack Obama does not bankrupt America, perhaps he can send some food and financial aid to Kenya (even though Kenya’s corrupt government does not deserve any money).

“He proves that America exists.”

Posted by Carlos C. on Sunday, January 18th, 2009 at 10:44 pm

People have ruled out America. They counted you out.

America was here before Obama arrived, Bono.

The next week, and the next four years, will be a huge kiss-Obama-ass fest.

Joy.

$150 million inaugural party!

Posted by Carlos C. on Sunday, January 18th, 2009 at 1:07 pm

But, not everyone is invited.

WASHINGTON – Unemployment is up. The stock market is down. Let’s party.

The price tag for President-elect Barack Obama’s inauguration gala is expected to break records, with some estimates reaching as high as $150 million. Despite the bleak economy, however, Democrats who called on President George W. Bush to be frugal four years ago are issuing no such demands now that an inaugural weekend of rock concerts and star-studded parties has begun.

Obama’s inaugural committee has raised more than $41 million to cover events ranging from a Philadelphia-to-Washington train ride to a megastar concert with Beyonce, U2 and Bruce Springsteen to 10 official inaugural balls. Add to that the massive costs of security and transportation — costs absorbed by U.S. taxpayers — and the historic inauguration will produce an equally historic bill.

In 2005, Reps. Anthony Weiner, D-N.Y., and Jim McDermott, D-Wash., asked Bush to show a little less pomp and be a little more circumspect at his party.

“President Roosevelt held his 1945 inaugural at the White House, making a short speech and serving guests cold chicken salad and plain pound cake,” the two lawmakers wrote in a letter. “During World War I, President Wilson did not have any parties at his 1917 inaugural, saying that such festivities would be undignified.”

The thinking was that, with the nation at war, excessive celebration was inappropriate. Four years later, the nation is still at war. Unemployment has risen sharply. And Obama pressed Congress to release the second half of a $700 billion bailout package in hopes of rescuing a faltering banking industry.

Obama’s inauguration committee says it is mindful of the times and is not worried people will see the four days of festivities as excessive.

“That is probably not the way the country is going to be looking at it,” said committee spokeswoman Linda Douglass. “It is not a celebration of an election. It is a celebration of our common values.”

Douglass said the campaign sought to keep costs down by having the same decorations at each of the 10 balls, eliminating floral arrangements and negotiating prices on food.

“Those at the Obama administration are trying to be reflective of the climate,” McDermott’s spokesman, Mike DeCeasar, said Saturday.

Speaking of the climate, Barack Obama’s inauguration will leave the most massive carbon footprint in the world’s history.

By comparison, President Bush’s 2004 inauguration party was on $40 million.

Perhaps President Bush did exercise some fiscal responsibility during his tenure.

Obama naysayers speak out: No O-kumbaya!

Posted by Carlos C. on Sunday, January 18th, 2009 at 10:50 am

Politico.com

With Barack Obama’s approval ratings in the 70s and his visage plastered on every shop window and Metro card in Washington, it’s hard to remember that 58 million Americans voted for the other guy.

Even President Bush — who presumably counts himself among that group — said last week that Obama’s inauguration is “a moment of hope and pride.”

That’s not exactly how Michelle Malkin describes it.

“Jan. 20 has turned into a schlock inauguration, (where) every last moocher has come to cash in on Obama,” says the conservative blogger and pundit. “There are some of us who want to bang our heads against the wall.”

While most Republicans now in office are saying all the right things about Tuesday’s proceedings — roll tape on “peaceful transfer of power” and “historic moment for the country” sound bites — some conservatives can’t quite get themselves in the “We Are One” mood.

Not even for a day.

On his radio show last week, Rush Limbaugh railed against “people on our side of the aisle who have caved and who say, ‘Well, I hope he succeeds. We have to give him a chance.’”

“Why?” Limbaugh demanded. “They didn’t give Bush a chance in 2000. Before he was inaugurated, the search-and-destroy mission had begun. I’m not talking about search-and-destroy, but I’ve been listening to Barack Obama for a year and a half. I know what his politics are. I know what his plans are, as he has stated them. I don’t want them to succeed.”

Every television channel, including HBO, is going to have wall-to-wall coverage of the inauguration. The coverage will be saturated with music and movie stars getting their “me” time and nauseating the masses with their bullcrap of faux peace and love well-wishes. And yes, the historical aspect is good, but I am over that. I do not care about Obama’s skin color. I care about exposing Obama’s Socialist policies that he has so deceptively wrapped up as “hope and change”.

While I do not care for Barack Obama’s upcoming policies, I do care about Barack Obama the man. He is a husband and father. He will be the President of the United States on Tuesday. I am disgusted by all of the assassination attempts and plots that have been formulated in the past few months. Scoop This has reported each one (here, here, here, here, and here).

Really, do you want Joe Biden to be the President?

Posted by Carlos C. on Saturday, January 17th, 2009 at 4:34 am

Remember when angry Hamas supporters burned posters of Barack Obama?

Well, they threw shoes at Barack Obama posters, too.

Shoe chucking is not so funny now, huh, liberals?

Here is the video:

While chucking “freedom sneakers” at Obama’s poster, Hamas supporters also “Death to Obama!”.

Lovely.
