Planned Parenthood Wants Piece of Bailout Pie

Posted by Holly Martin on Sunday, January 18th, 2009 at 12:32 am

Planned Parenthood has asked for billions of dollars via a federal subsidy package from the federal government. They insist their organization is broke, broke, broke. Not so, says the Family Research Council. According to the spokesman of the FRC, Tom McClusky, Planned Parenthood is thriving. They bring in a sizeable profit each year providing abortions and are a billion-dollar organization. McClusky states that “the last thing it needs is taxpayer money on the federal, state, or local level.”

The FRC is asking that the non-profit group be de-funded and that the government not submit to Planned Parenthood’s demands. Tom McClusky believes Planned Parenthood is simply trying to line its pockets and additional money from taxpayers is inappropriate, given their financial security.

“I guess greed could be one answer,” McClusky concludes while trying to explain Planned Parenthood’s motivation. Gee, who knew Planned Parenthood was so immoral? I guess when you kill babies, you’re just a hop, skip, and a jump away from being completely souless.

Bailout Fails to get results, Economy Sucks, Government still spending more than it has

Posted by Kelsey Golden on Monday, October 6th, 2008 at 6:04 pm

Despite our "saviors" in Washington passing a bill costing taxpayers 850 Billion Dollars in order to "fix" the credit crisis, the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped another 300 points today partly out of fear that the credit crisis will spread throughout the world. Some "sigh of relief" eh?

I’ve heard various excuses coming from Washington including Bush’s line that "it’ll take a while to work." Oh really Mr. President? If it was going to "take a while," how come you and your Democrat Cronies in congress kept talking about the Urgency of this bill superceding the need to get the job done right? How come I kept hearing congressmen supporting the bill say "we can fix the details later." If it was going to "take a while" doesn’t that also mean that we could’ve taken a little while longer to develop a bill that actually was going to work in the short term and long term?

Furthermore, how is that 150 Billion Dollars in pork going to help us get through this crisis? WHY THE HELL did John McCain, who’s run on this idea that he is "against pork" not take a stand against the pork in that bill? If the economy is bad and Americans are having to "cut back" in order to make ends meet, why is our government still spending the money they stole from us like a 20 year old who won the lottery?

To my heros in Washington (Congress): I WANT MY WALLET BACK, I need it to buy the Gasoline that you people say we don’t need more of. I need it so I can keep going to work in order to send half my paycheck to a government that spends money like a 6 year old on the candy isle! Maybe I’d have enough to buy a couple of ears of corn but that’s before I remember that the Government jacked up that price as well.

To President Bush: I am finally ready to say that I am going to be glad to see you retire. I wish I could say the same for just about every other Politician in Washington DC. Thanks but no thanks to taking our government from 12% GDP absorption to 25% in eight years. At this rate of increased spending, the government will be taking 100% of the GDP in less than 20 years.

To John McCain: You lost my vote when you voted for the bailout, especially after all the pork. I now have no reason to believe that you will unconditionally stand against pork when you’re president. I will not be voting for your democrat opponent either nor will I accept you as an alternative only because you’re "not him." I’m tired of voting for the "lesser of two evils" and I’m going to seriously look into Bob Barr, foreign policy aside. At least Barr is a "conservative."

To Sarah Palin: If you and McCain are elected, I hope you strongly push for him to veto pork and cut spending no matter what the political consequences might be. I still have hope that you are voice of genuine fiscal conservatism and that your presence in office will be invaluable to the country and future generations who’ll have less debt as a result.

To Obama/Biden: Good luck overcoming the Republican Filibuster. In your maximum 4 years in office, I have confidence that your unproductive "blame the other side" politics is going to get you nowhere when you try to get a single idiotic socialist bill passed the congress. Then again, Bush got the same people to nationalize banks so anything’s possible. I also have no doubt that you two will make Bush’s enormous budgetary increases look like a trip to the dollar store as we taxpayers brace ourselves for at least one trillion dollars in new spending.

In the meantime, I’m going to seek out as many tax loopholes as possible so I can be spared of Biden’s definition of "patriotism" which for all intents and purposes, makes the participants of the Boston Tea Party some of the most "unpatriotic" in American History.

Bailout Bill Passes

Posted by Kelsey Golden on Friday, October 3rd, 2008 at 3:49 pm

Remember that bill that was rejected by the house a few days ago? You know, the one that authorized the president to gift 700 Billion Taxpayer dollars to companies that made bad business decisions?

Well, the Senate tacked the bill rejected by the house onto a previously approved tax bill in addition to 150 Billion dollars in extra  earmarks, rushed it through the conference committee, and sent it back to the house for a vote. Well apparently the $150 Billion dollars in earmarks was all many in the house thought the bill was missing because despite nothing else in the bailout bill changing, the house passed it in a 263 to 171 vote early this afternoon!

hr1424

This is compared to the vote for the same bill just a few days ago of 205 "Yeas" to 233 "Nays." Way to stand up for the Taxpayers Congress!

I am glad to see that my Congressman, John Carter, voted to reject this bill. For those not living in Carter’s district, here’s a vote tally so you can make sure that your congressman doesn’t get your vote on November 4th if he voted the wrong way on this bill.

A Reply from Congressman John Carter (R-TX) (Scoopthis.org EXCLUSIVE)

Posted by Kelsey Golden on Monday, September 29th, 2008 at 6:32 pm

As I have already mentioned, I have been in contact with my congressman regarding the Bailout bill just as I hope many of you have. Shortly after my Congressman voted "No" on the bill, he sent me (and likely others) the following email:

Dear Kelsey:

Thank you for taking the time to contact me regarding federal involvement in the current financial market. Your input is important to me, and I appreciate the time you took to share your thoughts.

As you may know, H.R. 3997, the Defenders of Freedom Tax Relief Act of 2007 nicknamed the Wall Street Bailout Bill, failed to pass the House by a vote of 205 to 228.  I had serious concerns regarding this bill and was not prepared to commit $700 billion of taxpayer dollars to a plan with so many unanswered questions, as a result I voted against H.R. 3997.

Now that this plan has failed, I am ready and willing to go back to the drawing board and come up with a plan that won’t put taxpayers on the hook for another government bailout.  I also think we should see the evidence from all sides of the issue, not solely the advice from the administration.

I hope to help craft a common sense alternative to the $700 billion Bush/Paulson Bailout Plan, one that mandates Wall Street fund the recovery of the economy rather than American taxpayers.

Again, thank you for taking the time to contact me on this important issue. Please do not hesitate to contact me in the future should you need any further assistance.

Sincerely,
John Carter
Member of Congress

Today, I am sure of only one vote I will be making on November 4th and that is the vote to Re-Elect my congressman, John Carter. Click Here for a list of the congressmen that voted for or against the bailout and please vote accordingly.

More Evidence on Root Causes of Mortgage Crisis, much to the dismay of Democrats.

Posted by Kelsey Golden on Monday, September 29th, 2008 at 3:24 am

This is from a New York Times Article written in 1999:

In a move that could help increase home ownership rates among minorities and low-income consumers, the Fannie Mae Corporation is easing the credit requirements on loans that it will purchase from banks and other lenders.

The action, which will begin as a pilot program involving 24 banks in 15 markets — including the New York metropolitan region — will encourage those banks to extend home mortgages to individuals whose credit is generally not good enough to qualify for conventional loans. Fannie Mae officials say they hope to make it a nationwide program by next spring.

Fannie Mae, the nation’s biggest underwriter of home mortgages, has been under increasing pressure from the Clinton Administration to expand mortgage loans among low and moderate income people and felt pressure from stock holders to maintain its phenomenal growth in profits.

Sarcasm: Yeah, looks like it’s “all Bush’s fault” because of “deregulation.” *cough*

And yet, do we see any indication that Democrats intend to change their welfare state mentality which pressured private banks into taking these unnecessary risks? Of course not. In fact, one of their few objections to this bailout was that it didn’t redistribute enough wealth to these same “lower income” people who took out loans that couldn’t be paid back! I think they got their wishes in the final draft.

Yet, somehow Democrats continue to trick the lemming masses into believing that they’re on our side… give me a break. Yeah… keep voting Democrat and ignoring reality and common sense, morons.

For those who still believe the Democrats are innocent in the mortgage crisis…

Posted by Kelsey Golden on Saturday, September 27th, 2008 at 9:01 pm

(Here’s more evidence to pretend that you didn’t see)

Ah the virtues of Liberalism: to reward bad behavior at the expense of good behavior. And somehow, this party still achieves the perception that they’re on the side of “hard working” Americans. In reality, they’re on the side of themselves, pandering to the lazy, guilt tripping the responsible, and above all else, getting elected by any and all means possible, no matter what the consequences.

Now they want to send 700 Billion dollars to the businesses that failed as a result of their arm twisting. They want to blame Republicans for the whole mess. They also want to “blame” Republicans for refusing to vote for a bill that hurts taxpayers and the survival of the fittest principles of capitalism.

November 4th, 2008 will be our chance to throw these self-serving bums out along with all of the failed CEOs. It’s only a shame that we taxpayers will be paying their congressional pensions for the rest of their lives.

Success: Bailout talks break down

Posted by Kelsey Golden on Friday, September 26th, 2008 at 12:15 am

WASHINGTON - A Republican rebellion stalled government efforts Thursday to avoid economic meltdown, a chaotic turnaround that disrupted the choreography of an extraordinary White House meeting meant to show joint resolve from the president, the political parties and the presidential candidates.

ARTICLE HERE

Hmm… the newspapers are going to blame "House Republicans" for screwing up a "bi-partisan" effort to "avoid economic meltdown," eh?

I guess we know where this newspaper stands on the issue of bailouts. Well, at least some GOP congressmen are in touch with the American People on this issue, even if the rest of the Washington Establishment and media are not. I’m also hearing greater speculation that McCain intends to oppose bailouts. I hope he does.

I hope everyone who reads this is behind the House GOP 100% in stopping this bailout even if they don’t support you on anything else. Imagine that, in this case, Americans are "United" against "bi-partisanship!"

I hope they keep it up until congress adjourns.

Another Source (FoxNews)

"This meeting ended bad — real bad," one source told FOX News. Others described the tone as "angry" and "heated," saying Democrats were upset with House Republicans in particular who would not drop their opposition to the administration’s proposal."

Imagine that! The Democrats are on Bush’s side and the House Republicans aren’t! Once again, I am very happy to see them finally standing up for principle for once.

Please write your congressman and voice your opposition to this bailout so we can make sure it does not happen.
