NYC adds man’s cancer death to 9/11 victims’ toll.

NEW YORK (AP) - A man who died of lymphoma and lung disease more than seven years after he was exposed to toxic dust from the World Trade Center collapse was added to the Sept. 11 death toll, the New York City medical examiner said Friday.

Leon Heyward, 45, died Oct. 13 of lymphoma that was complicated by the lung disease sarcoidosis and the use of the chemotherapy drug cyclophosphamide, the medical examiner’s office said.

Ellen Borakove, a spokeswoman for the medical examiner’s office, said Heyward was near the twin towers when they collapsed. She did not say how long Heyward had been ill or whether he worked in the trade center.

His family could not immediately be reached Friday.

Deaths may be reclassified when “people die of disease that is caused by exposure to the dust that occurred in the time of the collapse,” Borakove said.

Chief medical examiner Charles Hirsch listed Heyward’s death as a homicide. The family did not formally request to add Heyward to the Sept. 11 death toll, Borakove said.

Hirsch last added the illness death of Felicia Dunn-Jones to the official toll in 2007 after her family made the request several times, but the judge has declined to make similar rulings in half a dozen other cases.

Dunn-Jones, a 42-year-old civil rights attorney, was caught in the dust cloud that enveloped lower Manhattan on the day of the attacks.

Medical experts researching the severity of post-Sept. 11 illness have said the risk of exposure was greatest on the day of the attacks, although thousands of people have said they developed respiratory illness, cancer and other ailments from breathing in fumes during the nine-month cleanup.

Dunn-Jones developed a persistent cough shortly after Sept. 11 and died in February 2002.

Hirsch cited research that showed a link between sarcoidosis and ground zero dust exposure and said that Dunn-Jones’ exposure contributed to her disease.

Later in 2007, however, Hirsch reversed a New Jersey medical examiner’s decision that a retired city police detective’s death was caused by exposure to toxic dust. Hirsch ruled that James Zadroga’s improper use of prescription drugs exacerbated his lung disease.

The 34-year-old Zadroga’s name was later added to the New York Police Department’s memorial wall as an official Sept. 11 victim.

Many victims’ family members have said they wanted symbolic recognition that their loved ones’ deaths were caused by the terrorist attack. Researchers studying Sept. 11-related illness also have watched the cases closely, as they establish direct links between trade center exposure.

The death toll from the trade center attacks now stands at 2,752.

I believe all of these people that die due to lung disease caused by World Trade Center dust exposure should be added to the death toll.

They were physically injured and internally injured on that day.

Al Qaeda blooper reels!

Posted by Carlos C. on Monday, November 24th, 2008 at 6:46 am

Ziad Jarrah liked to drink beer and attend discos while at college. Then five years later, he steered Flight 93 into the ground, killing everyone on board.

I would almost surmise from the video that he is not “down for the cause”, but his murderous actions on September 11, 2001 prove otherwise.

Burn in hell, Ziad.

Remembrance and Resolve on 9/11/08.

Posted by Carlos C. on Thursday, September 11th, 2008 at 2:43 pm

Today, all Americans of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on our country. Even with the passage of time, it does not get any easier commemorating this day. Our memories are for our family members and friends, our neighbors, so forcefully and maliciously taken from us in a span of two hours. We remember our brief sense of love and unity where we all became Americans instead of citizens in a particular racial, political, social, or economical class. Our resolve is to transform our anger into a means for action, such as joining our military, or supporting our troops unconditionally. It is a resolve to right what was wronged, a resolve for justice, and a resolve for vengeance.

Never forget our anger that day. Never forget Betty Ong. Never forget Betty’s resolve to help the passengers on Flight 11.

Never forget our anger that day. Never forget the decision our neighbors had to make, either suffocating in a sea of fire and black smoke, or jumping to their deaths.

Never forget our anger that day. Never forget Kevin Cosgrove. Never forget his passion for life and his will to live, to see his family again, though he never got that chance.

Never forget our anger that day. Never forget the victims at the Pentagon and the victims on Flight 93. Perhaps a cruel twist of fate is that hardly any or no video exists of the attack against the Pentagon and the heroism of the passengers on Flight 93. But we know their story. We know that all the passengers on all four flights did their best to fight back. We know our first victory against terrorists and the War On Terror occurred on a grassy field in Shanksville, Pennsylvania.

Never forget our anger that day. Never forget President Bush’s resolve to lead our nation through this tragedy. Never forget our unity on September 14th, 2001. This video always makes me cry because I wish we were still united in this way, the way it should be. We fight amongst one another for political and social power and control, but we must never forget that in the midst of our infighting is that we are still family, we are still Americans, and we are all that we have in this world.

May God bless all of you, and may God bless America.

Global Poll: No consensus on who was behind 9/11.

Posted by Carlos C. on Wednesday, September 10th, 2008 at 10:36 am

This is a mini-headline currently up on Drudge Report.

This should be interesting.

Breaking News…

Developing…

UPDATE 1: The story is not up yet, but I would like to take a wild guess at who was behind 9/11.

I am guessing Fuck Face Cunt Muscle Osama Bin Laden.

UPDATE 2: newsmeat.com

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Seven years after the Sept. 11 attacks, there is no consensus outside the United States that Islamist militants from al Qaeda were responsible, according to an international poll published Wednesday.

The survey of 16,063 people in 17 nations found majorities in only nine countries believe al Qaeda was behind the attacks on New York and Washington that killed about 3,000 people in 2001.

U.S. officials squarely blame al Qaeda, whose leader Osama bin Laden has boasted of organizing the suicide attacks by his followers using hijacked commercial airliners.

On average, 46 percent of those surveyed said al Qaeda was responsible, 15 percent said the U.S. government, 7 percent said Israel and 7 percent said some other perpetrator. One in four people said they did not know who was behind the attacks.

The poll was conducted by WorldPublicOpinion.org, a collaborative project of research centers in various countries managed by the Program on International Policy Attitudes at the University of Maryland in the United States.

In Europe, al Qaeda was cited by 56 percent of Britons and Italians, 63 percent of French and 64 percent of Germans. The U.S. government was to blame, according to 23 percent of Germans and 15 percent of Italians.

Respondents in the Middle East were especially likely to name a perpetrator other than al Qaeda, the poll found.

Israel was behind the attacks, said 43 percent of people in Egypt, 31 percent in Jordan and 19 percent in the Palestinian Territories. The U.S. government was blamed by 36 percent of Turks and 27 percent of Palestinians.

In Mexico, 30 percent cited the U.S. government and 33 percent named al Qaeda.

The only countries with overwhelming majorities blaming al Qaeda were Kenya with 77 percent and Nigeria with 71 percent.

Interviews were conducted in China, Indonesia, Nigeria, Russia, Egypt, France, Germany, Britain, Italy, Jordan, Kenya, Mexico, the Palestinian Territories, South Korea, Taiwan, Turkey and Ukraine.

The poll, taken between July 15 and Aug. 31, had a margin of error of plus or minus 3 to 4 percent.

Oh Lord. Some people will believe anything!

46% of the people surveyed said Al Qaeda was responsible for 9/11. Thankfully, nearly half of the people surveyed around the world are smart.

25% of the people surveyed said that they do not know who attacked America on 9/11/01. For those of you still confused, direct your attention to the photo posted earlier on the blog.

15% of the vote went to the U.S. government. Why would the U.S. government destroy buildings that they specifically used. What purpose is served by destroying the Pentagon?

Israel received 7% of the vote. Are you kidding me? Maybe WorldPublicOpinion.org accidentally surveyed people in Iran.

The last 7% of the vote went to other possible attackers.

RNC 9/11 Tribute video - and Olbermann’s reaction.

Posted by Carlos C. on Friday, September 5th, 2008 at 10:29 am

I am reminded of Danny Worley’s country song, “Have You Forgotten?”, when I watched Olbermann’s reaction to the video. I’m reminded of these lyrics:

They took all the footage off my tv.
Said it’s too disturbing for you and me.
It’ll just breed anger that’s what the experts say.
If it was up to me I’d show it every day.

No matter how sad, shocking, disturbing, and vile the 9/11 images are, we must see them. We are still at war with Al Qaeda. They still seek to kill us all. Some people, such as Keith Olbermann, are becoming and have become complacent, believing that we cannot be attacked again. Thanks to the efforts of President Bush, our military, our spy agencies, and the vigilance all Americans, we are still safe from any further attack. Remember, we have to be right 100% of the time to stave off another attack. Terrorists have to be right only once.

Never Forget.

Man dials 911 to complain about Subway sauce.

Posted by Carlos C. on Monday, August 4th, 2008 at 2:34 pm

Fox News.com

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Reginald Peterson needs to learn that 911 is not the appropriate place to complain that Subway left the sauce off a spicy Italian sandwich, Jacksonville police said.

The 42-year-old man dialed 911 twice last week so he could have his sub made correctly, police said. The second call was to complain that officers weren’t arriving fast enough.

Subway workers told police Peterson became belligerent and yelled when they were fixing his order. They locked him out of the store after he left to call police.

When officers arrived, they tried to calm Peterson and explain the proper use of 911. Those efforts failed, and he was arrested on a charge of making false 911 calls.

Peterson did not have a listed phone number.

Was this guy drunk? LOL!

Next time, go to Quiznos. Their sandwiches have more meat, taste better, and are actually palatable.
