Do not be intimidated, France!

PARIS (Reuters) – France reacted in shock on Wednesday to the death of 10 of its soldiers in an ambush in Afghanistan and questions began to be asked about the country’s worst military loss in 25 years.

President Nicolas Sarkozy, who flew to Kabul on Tuesday, said France was committed to its engagement in Afghanistan where it took part in the 2001 invasion to topple the Taliban.

But the opposition Socialists called for a parliamentary committee to meet and doubts were expressed about the official account of the incident in which the 10 soldiers were killed and 21 wounded in a fierce mountain battle.

“Afghanistan — should we leave?” ran the front-page headline of the Thursday edition of left-wing newspaper Liberation, which is strongly critical of Sarkozy’s policies.

Only Socialists and liberals give up when the fighting gets tough! Do not be like them, France. America and your allies in Afghanistan mourn the loss of your soldiers with you, but now is the time to regroup and fight!

Do not be like the Spanish. After the March 11, 2004 train bombings in Madrid by Al Qaeda operatives, the Spanish people voted Socialists into power 5 days later. The Spanish Socialists pulled their 9,000 Spanish troops from Iraq. And the first order of business for the Spanish Socialists? Pass gay marriage rights.

Obviously, passing gay marriage rights is more important in Spain than fighting Al Qaeda in a war for the survival of all free people. Stay resilient, France. Do not be like the Spanish!

  1. Says:

I am a Socialist, and Segolene Royale should have been President! Your assertion over Spain holds no water, in fact, nothing has happened to Spain since it pulled it’s troops out of Iraq, instead they focused on improving the domestic front, and gay marriage was a part of that.

We are killing more civilians in Afghanistan via “collateral damage” than the Taliban are in deliberate murders! It’s time to end this conflict and realize that war is not and will not solve this issue.

    My assertion is correct.

The Spanish are quitters and they caved into Al Qaeda’s demands.
