UPDATE 1: Travis Barker is still in critical condition. DJ AM, real name Adam Goldstein, was also on the plane and is said to be in “shock”, but he is in stable condition. No word yet on the names of the 4 people killed in the crash.
An airport spokesperson says the plane crashed just after taking off. The plane was attempting to take off, ran off the runway, went through a fence, and hit an embankment along Highway 302. The plane was heading to Van Nuys, California.

(AP) A hospital spokeswoman says former Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker and a popular disc jockey have been critically injured in a Learjet crash in South Carolina that killed four people.
Federal Aviation Administration spokeswoman Kathleen Bergen says the plane carrying six people was departing shortly before midnight Friday when air traffic controllers reporting seeing sparks.
She said the plane went off the runway and crashed on a nearby road.
Hospital spokeswoman Beth Frits says Barker and DJ AM, whose real name is Adam Goldstein, were at a burn center in Augusta, Ga.
Federal officials say two crew members and two passengers have been killed.
Still no word yet on the names of the people killed.

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - South Carolina officials say four California residents died in the fiery Learjet crash that also critically injured former Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker and celebrity DJ AM.
The Lexington County coroner said Saturday that pilot Sarah Lemmon of Anaheim Hills and co-pilot James Bland of Carlsbad died. Also killed were passengers Chris Baker, 29, of Studio City, and Charles Still, 25, of Los Angeles.

UPDATE 6: Both Travis Barker and DJ AM are listed in critical condition.
UPDATE 7: TMZ.com is reporting that Travis Barker was burned from the waist down. DJ AM’s face was severely burned and is being treated. Christ Baker, who died in the crash, was just recently married and had a baby.
UPDATE 8: TMZ.com is also reporting that Chris Baker’s wife went into labor last night. Travis Barker told Chris that he would do everything in his power to get back to California, so that is why they decided to go on the lear jet.
